Dear Parent/Guardian,
Ms Mc Guire’s TY Class are preparing a Malahide Community School Christmas Market on December 9th to raise much needed funds for Focus Ireland.
The money raised by our school will go towards providing food and shelter for vulnerable and homeless people around Ireland this Winter.
It will be a day long event in Scoil Iosa Hall selling savoury and sweet foods, christmas cards, a photobooth and mini company products.
The first phase of fundraising takes place tomorrow with our school tree “leaf” sale.
Ms Mc Guire’s French class have cut out individual “hand leaves” for everybody in the school to write their name on. Together, all hands will make our “School Christmas Tree” on the market day, showing our school community and how we are coming together this Christmas to help those in need.
We are asking everyone to bring in €1 each, students and staff, as your contribution to the event.
The TY Class will be going around to each classroom during period 1 tomorrow Friday 5th of November to collect the money from each class group. They will have the leaves and markers for everybody to write their name on their leaf.
Each euro counts and we are hoping by coming together, everyone’s small contribution will go a long way!
We are aware that there is another charity collection taking place in school tomorrow but as this is a TY initiative the students are only available tomorrow to collect in the classrooms as they will be out of school on Work Experience for the next 2 weeks.
There will also be an opportunity to contribute to this worthy cause via the school app next week if you decide that is more appropriate.
Kind regards, best wishes and seasons greetings!! Ms. McGuire and the TY French class
