Gaeltacht Scholarships, 2025

March 12, 2025

Dear Parent/Guardian,

We hope that all our students are enjoying the various events which have been organised for Seachtain na Gaeilge!

On top of this, Roinn na Gaeilge is delighted to announce we are once again running an essay competition for students who are attending a Gaeltacht course this summer (2025). We have six scholarships, each worth €250, available. Three scholarships will be awarded to Junior Students and three scholarships will be awarded to Senior Students.

Essay Titles:

  • Junior Students: Eachtra a tharla dom.

  • Senior Students: Is fearr Gaeilge bhriste ná Béarla cliste.

To Enter:

  • Students must write a 300 word essay under the relevant title.

  • Essays must be submitted to Ms. McNulty via email: mcnultyj@malahidecs.ie

  • The deadline for entries is Wednesday, 19th March.

  • Each student who submits an essay will be entered into a draw. The six winners will be chosen at random.

  • (Please note: Winners must provide proof of payment for a Gaeltacht course before the prize money can be awarded).

An Roinn Gaeilge wishes to extend their thanks to the Board of Management and the Parents Association for generously funding these scholarships as well as for their continued support for the Irish language in Malahide Community School.
